Google has no official Search Console MCP server, and no Search Console connector for ChatGPT or Claude. You need a community server or a hosted one.
The free open-source servers run on your computer, so they work in Claude Code and Claude Desktop. ChatGPT only connects to remote servers, so it needs a hosted one.

Set up a free server in Claude Code
- In Google Cloud, create a project and enable the Search Console API.
- Create a service account and download its JSON key.
- In Search Console, add the service account's email under Settings, Users and permissions. Restricted access is enough.
- Add the server to Claude Code:

- 25,000 rows per request and about 50,000 per day. The rest is dropped.
- 16 months of history, 2 to 3 days behind.
- Anonymized queries are missing from the query rows but counted in the totals.
- URL Inspection: 2,000 checks per site per day, and no way to request indexing.
- No Page indexing, Core Web Vitals or Links reports.
Three checks before you trust an answer
- Totals
- Compare total clicks for a fixed date range with the Performance report. They should match.
- Query set
- If it gives an average position, ask which queries it covers.
- The gap
- Add up the query rows and compare them with the total. On one customer's site in August 2026, the query rows covered 3,648 of 7,956 clicks. The other 54% had no query attached.
